Connecting Wemo switches to Amplifi routers

I was having trouble connecting my Wemo switches to my Amplifi router. Every time it would go through the steps to connect to the Wi-Fi, it would fail. I have tried a lot of different suggestions that I found online but only turning off Bandwidth Steering seemed to work. When I turned Bandwidth Steering off, I was able to configure my switches.

To turn this off, launch the Amplifi app and select the main router. From there, go to Settings > Wireless > Bandwidth Steering and turn it off.

It turns out that these switches only communicate over the 2.4 Ghz band and will not talk on 5 Ghz. Bandwidth steering trying to get devices to communicate with the 5 Ghz radio for better performance but in this case, it does not allow the switches to talk to the wireless router.

Once you have all of your switches configured, you can turn back on bandwidth steering.

I hope this helps someone else that runs into this or a similar issue.
